Middle School Academics

The First Academy Middle School is comprised of students in grades six through eight. As a college-preparatory school, we feel these are critical years of transitioning students from the Lower School classroom to the more collegiate daily structure of an Upper School schedule and curriculum.

All Middle School students take core classes in Bible, English, history, mathematics, and science. A wide variety of elective classes allow students to begin to explore their individual interests and gifts. The First Academy’s elective offerings for students in grades 6 through 8 range from those in the area of Fine Arts (visual and performing), physical education, reading, personal computers, and foreign languages.

School life at The First Academy Middle School also features many exciting off-campus learning experiences, including a photo safari at Animal Kingdom and an interview project at Epcot, and an exciting trip by the eighth graders to our nation’s capital, Washington, DC.

The overview for each Middle School grade level is available on the menu at left.
