The Royal Guard works with the Band to represent TFA through the use of flags. From August through November, the Royal Guard performs with the Royal Marching Band at all home varsity football games and normally travels to one or two away games each year. The marching band competes in one to three local Marching Band Festivals and participates in the Annual Downtown Orlando Veterans Day Parade, as well as audition only venues such as Epcot.
Historically, the Standard or Flag-bearer held a position of honor among God’s people, representing them and what they stood for. The first target of an opposing army was the Flag-bearer, because as long as the Flag was raised, the people had identity, purpose, and power.
Students in 7th to 12th grade are eligible to participate in The First Academy’s Royal Guard.
