4 Things to Start Your School Year Smoothly

Written By: Dr. Steve Whitaker, Head of School

Every week I usually write a short article for our TFA families, which includes a devotional thought or a story of encouragement. Today I thought I could best serve our families with a short list of “need-to-know’s” that will help make your 2014-2015 school year as smooth as possible.

#1. Updating RenWeb – We ask that you review and update any outdated information on your family’s RenWeb account, as RenWeb is our only source for gathering this important information and is the tool that we use to communicate important school information, as well as emergency information.

To log into RenWeb, visit:

#2. TFA Today. This is a weekly newsletter that arrives in your email inbox. This is taking the place of “eNews” and will house important updates and information on events and activities here at The First Academy. TFA Today will be sent out each Thursday morning and it is our desire that this will be your first and primary means of receiving important calendar and event information, as well updates from the arts, athletics, and each of the academic divisions.

#3. Monday Morning Reminders: A new communication tool this year, every Monday morning our division principals will send out a short text reminding parents of the important and relevant information for the coming week. It is not intended to be exhaustive, rather a reminder of the top 2-3 most important items for that week.

#4. Portal Login – As of August 1, we launched our new website. One of the many new features on the website is the portal feature. The portal now gives you increased protection when submitting forms for financial transactions, by keeping all forms behind the portal wall. Also, we believe the portal will help us in the protection of our students by requiring login credentials to access their schedules and calendars. Lastly, the portal will offer streamlined access to RenWeb, forms, and other applications. If you have not done so already, we urge you to create a login by visiting:

As always, thank you for the opportunity to partner with you in training the next generation of Christian leaders. We are off to a great start, and the best is yet.
