Disney’s Candlelight Processional

In September, a group of sixteen Upper School students sang for in an audition video (above) in the hopes that Disney would select our school to participate in the Disney Candlelight Processional at Epcot this year. These 16 students worked very hard to master a 5-part arrangement in only three short practices as Disney changed their audition requirements for this year’s event. Disney changed the audition requirements to one of the most difficult songs from the show. It was certainly a big task to attempt, but the students achieved a great audition!

We were notified this week that our group was selected and asked to perform in the Candlelight Processional! This is a very big honor and a first-time accomplishment for The First Academy. The group has fifteen very challenging pieces to learn in preparation for this event, but they will represent our school well! If you would like to attend in support of our students and school, the details are below (you will need a ticket or annual pass to get into Epcot for this event).

Date: Tuesday, December 22
Time of Show: 5:00pm
Location: Epcot’s American Pavilion
Seating: Seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis and fills very quickly.

Congratulations to our vocal music students for such a tremendous accomplishment!
