At what grade level did you start at The First Academy?

I started at The First Academy in 8th grade.

What were the reasons you or your parents chose The First Academy?

My mom started working at TFA in the Admissions department and my family saw it as a great opportunity for me to attend the school.

Are you involved in extracurricular activities? If so, what are they and have you received awards in these activities? (These can be affiliated with TFA or outside of school)

I am involved in basketball, cross country, track and AAU basketball. Awards that I have received include Most Improved for varsity basketball my junior year, coaches award my senior year and I was a team captain in both my junior and senior year.

Which colleges have you applied to and which ones have you be accepted to thus far? (Please include if you have made a decision to attend a certain college next year)

I applied to Butler, Cedarville, The Naval Academy, and Eckerd. I was accepted to all four and made the decision to attend The US Naval Academy.

What do you plan to study in college and what are your long-term career goals?

I’ve always been interested in math and science. In college, I would really like to study pre-med. From that, my long-term career goal is to become an anesthesiologist.

Have you received any college scholarships? If so, which ones? (Or, which ones are your currently nominated for)

Yes, I received full-ride scholarships to Cedarville, Eckerd, and The Naval Academy.

Who is/are your favorite TFA teacher(s), and why? (Teachers can be K4-12)

My favorite teacher? Wow, this is extremely hard. If I had to choose one it would definitely be Mrs. Oswald. She is caring and fun and on top everything else she disciples students. She is like a mom, in teacher-form.

How has TFA made a difference in, or impacted your life?

All of my years being at TFA, students, and teachers have impacted my life in a positive way. Both the teachers and students create great relationships with you in a way that feels like family. The family atmosphere makes you feel at home.

How do you feel that The First Academy has prepared you for life after graduation?

TFA has prepared me in a spiritual way more than anything. My relationship with Christ has elevated ten-fold and I know tough times will hit me in college, and leaning on Him will be the best thing for me.

What does it mean to you to be a The First Academy alumni?

It means a lot. TFA has prepared me in multiple ways for the next step in my life. When I come back to TFA from college, I can say that I’m proud to be a graduate of The First Academy!
