Recently, all TFA families should have received a copy of the book, In God We Trust: 5 Anchor Points for Turbulent Times. It is my prayer that this resource will be a tool for your family throughout the school year. Not only was this book written to coincide with our school year theme, but it was designed to help in preparing your family for life’s most difficult times. Below, I have highlighted three different opportunities for you to take advantage of this tool.
First, beginning October 13th, we will begin a five-week blog series centered around the five chapters of the book. Let me invite you to follow along and to use these posts as conversation starters at dinnertime. At the end of each chapter is a “Family Minute” to help spark conversation. There is also a Seven-Day Prayer Journey to help your family grow even deeper in your relationship with God. Our Upper School students will be following the same schedule in their “House Group” time, so they should be ready and willing to join in the conversation.
Second, the book is now available for purchase at the TFA School Store. You can visit the In God We Trust Preview Page to purchase a copy or visit the store on campus. The book will also be available for purchase on Amazon beginning this Saturday, October 1. In addition, we are offering discounts when ordering more than 10 copies.
Third, let me encourage you to share the book with co-workers, friends, and family members. You can use the book in your Bible studies, small groups, or simply as a gift. This is a great tool to begin conversations within your community and circle of influence regarding how we can prepare and stay rooted in God despite the ever-changing political and social climate.
In conclusion, if you are going through a storm in your life I want to pray for you and I want to encourage you. Send me a note and let me know how I can pray for you. Also, let me recommend a resource that was sent to me early this morning by one of your teachers. It is a message by one of my favorite preachers. His name is T.D. Jakes and his message teaches us how to stand firm in the midst of the storm. You can view the video below for his impactful message.
I look forward to the upcoming blog series, and I am praying that your family’s participation will produce engaging discussions and result in true spiritual growth.
