Parents, please take a moment to mark your calendars. The following are important dates that you do not want to miss:
The following is a list of upcoming chapel dates and times:
Are you looking for an immediate way to help those impacted by Hurricane Matthew? First Baptist Church of Orlando is partnering with New Missions to provide blankets, pillows, and sheets to those impacted by the hurricane in Haiti. Collections are being taken through Sunday. If you would like to drop them at Lower School, we will deliver them to the church. Donations are also being collected at First Baptist Church of Orlando. New Missions will be shipping them out on Monday.
Our character trait for the month of October is Forgiveness. As we talk about this trait throughout the month in the classroom and at chapel, we define Forgiveness as deciding that someone has wronged you doesn’t have to pay and choosing to love when you have been hurt. The topic of forgiveness is mentioned in the Bible over 100 times. We have opportunities each and every day to give and receive forgiveness.
Put up with one another. Forgive one another if you are holding something against someone. Forgive, just as the Lord forgave you.
KPrep celebrated Dads this week with their annual Pumpkins for Pops event. Check out these fun pictures of their good time!
Two Lower School students were accepted for participation in one of two All-State elementary music ensembles. Congratulations to Jordyn Kinard and Hope Woods! These two young ladies will perform with the FMEA All-State Elementary Chorus in Tampa, January 13th at the Tampa Convention Center. These students were chosen for this prestigious honor through a competitive audition process among over 875 elementary students from all across Florida. Way to go Jordyn and Hope!
We are excited to be kicking off our annual Haiti Shoebox Drive in partnership with New Missions. Last year we collected over 1600 boxes to send to children in Haiti and we want to do even more this year. We will be talking about the shoebox drive in chapel this week but you can watch a great video HERE. Each year we collect shoeboxes filled with gifts for students in Haiti. School supplies, hygiene items, toys and other small gifts make a big difference in the lives of Haitian children and their families. You can share God’s love this Christmas by packing a shoebox. Our goal for Lower School will be 750 shoeboxes. Let’s work together to bless some children in Haiti this year.
“We love because He first loved us.” (I John 4:19)
Share God’s love this Christmas.

Do you know someone who has a 3-year old student? It’s never too early to start thinking about next year. Join us for our Ready, Set, KPrep event. This will take place on Thursday, November 3rd beginning at 9:00AM in the TFA Library. This is a great chance to learn more about our KPrep program for 4 year-olds. You will get a chance to meet the teachers and even visit the classrooms to get a first-hand glimpse at this very special program. You don’t want to miss it!
The Preschool will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair on October 25th-27th. They will be offering a special “5 Day Lower School” purchasing event on Wednesday, October 26th from 3:00-4:00pm. The book levels will range from birth-5th grade. This is a great opportunity to shop for books for 2nd quarter or even Christmas gifts!
Our new 4th, 5th, and 6th grade NEHS inductees will be recognized at the TFA Varsity Football Game on Friday, October 28th. The students will have the opportunity to come out on the field for their recognition. Parents mark your calendars because you will not want to miss this special recognition.
This is just a friendly reminder that students may be dropped off beginning at 7:30AM. If you arrive to school prior to that time, we request that students remain with their parents until 7:30AM. The library and the gym are open at that time. Student supervision does not begin until that time.
The Boyd Moline Library will be open until 3:45pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays this year. It will close at 3:30pm on Monday and Friday and at 2:40pm on Wednesdays.
The TFA Calendar is a wonderful way to find the dates of upcoming events. Access our web-based calendar anytime. We recommend that you subscribe to all relevant calendars so you can keep up with all of the events going on around the school.
