Shrek, Jr. is a Magnificent Middle School Musical: A Must See!

This theatrical event showcases the disciplined talent and teamwork of the actors and their directors.

The story and the songs performed throughout the show illustrate the fun, awkward, and sometimes disappointing life events encountered by familiar storybook characters. The importance of accepting the uniqueness of oneself and others is a central theme of the show and the middle school years as well.

“We’ve got magic, we’ve got power
Who are they to say we’re wrong?
All the things that make us special
Are the things that make us strong

What makes us special
What makes us special
What makes us special
Makes us strong”

-Lyrics from Freak Flag: Shrek, Jr.
“If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves.”
-Thomas Edison

Thinks and Thoughts,
Dr. Higgins

1st Grade Student (Orlando Science Center Trip)
First grade students visited the Orlando Science Center as a culminating activity for their unit on space. Students participated in space centers directed by Science Center experts. They demonstrated the relative placement of planets in our solar system with models and string. They experimented with telescopes and measuring items that are close and far away. In addition to the many hands on games and activities that simulate science concepts in our natural world, students attended an IMAX movie about animals, and a live show that demonstrated how electricity works.
