It is hard to believe that we are almost to the end of the school year. We have had great turnout at the Rising Grade Level meetings that have taken place and we have more of these to come. Be sure to check the calendar for those that are coming up next week. Thank you for your patience with our teachers when they do not have answers to all of the questions. We are still in the planning phase for next year and we want to make smart decisions bathed in prayer and wisdom. Thank you also for your patience with me and encouragement during my transition for the Learning-i.e. teacher to the Lower School principal. It’s going to be a great end of the school year.

The 4th Grade classes worked very hard on their economics project “Market Day.” Each group created their own product or service to sell to their consumers. This project included an advertisement, a commercial, a storefront, a business card, and more. Market Day was very successful and exciting for the students to put their persuasive skills to work and make some money for their business. We are very proud of their success and hard work!

Summer AR Testing
AR will be turned off beginning Monday, May 18th. AR will be available for summer testing on Monday, June 1st. Students may visit TFA campus to take AR tests Monday through Friday from 9 AM – 3 PM on their iDevices (iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch) through the Accelerated Reader app as of June 1st. Students must be on campus and logged on to the TFA Guest wifi during the designated times in order for the AR app to work. The library will not be open for testing, but there will be iPads available in the lower school lobby for students to use if they don’t have their own device. All AR testing done during the summer will count toward the 1st quarter AR goal for the 2015-2016 school year.

Classroom Placement
The TFA Faculty and staff are committed to providing the best educational experience for each child. The Principal and Assistant Principal work with teacher(s) to prayerfully consider the needs of the student when making final decisions for student placement. Class placement decisions are based on many factors which include, but are not limited to, the student’s individual learning styles as well as emotional, social, and academic needs. Classroom structure and current teacher recommendations are also closely considered.

Faculty and staff may not be prepared—at this time—to share information regarding their assignment for the next year since we are currently in the process of finalizing teacher grade level assignments. However, God continues to bless us with a strong Lower School team. Please continue to keep our faculty and staff in your prayers throughout the summer as they prepare for a new school year.
