October 22nd-K4-5th Grade Chapel-Faith Hall 8:45-9:25

I absolutely love being at Lower School chapel each week. We would love to have parents join us each week in this very special time, even if your child is not doing a presentation. I also think it is important to highlight what the students are learning in chapel.

Mrs. Smith’s “Fruit of the Spirit” Chapel
Mrs. Smith’s 2nd grade class did a very meaningful presentation about the Fruit of the Spirit. Through a skit, a video, poem and a chant, the students explained each fruit of the spirit and what it looks like in the life of a person. They also emphasized how we cannot produce good fruit without God and the presence of the Holy Spirit working through us.

“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit.”
Matthew 12:33-34

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Galatians 5:22.

Being the very first chapel presentation of the school year is a challenging task but Mrs. Smith and her students did a fantastic job.

Miss Rowley’s “God is Wisdom Life Lesson” Chapel
Miss Rowley’s fourth graders did an excellent job of demonstrating that God is Wisdom and we find the guidelines of how we should live our life in the Bible. The students shared ten life lessons and with each life lesson, the students paired a practical application as well as a Bible verse.
Life Lessons
Obey your parents
Keep God’s Commandments
Hold on to God’s Word for answers
Embrace God’s Word and plant it deep in your heart
Watch who you have as friends
Refrain from using hurtful words
Be honest in all that you do
Keep an eye on where you go
Seek self control when someone hurts you
Work hard in everything you do

Many of our classrooms have been taking a first hand look at life cycles with tadpoles changing into frogs and caterpillars changing into butterflies. What a great up close and personal look at God’s great design in nature.
