Around school, we hear students talking about a variety of topics, and often this includes technology-related ones. Thanks to the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), most of the popular social media sites restrict access to children under 13 years of age.
If you are looking for age-appropriate social media outlets for your children, here are a couple of ones designed specifically for elementary-aged children:

We want to embrace technology but also do it in a way that is good for our children. I would like to share a couple of resources that may be helpful for parents as they help their children navigate technology safely.

Mrs. Dvorak’s 5th Grade Chapel Presentation
Mrs. Dvorak’s 5th grade presented a message on the topic of ‘Fairness’ in Tuesday’s chapel. We were reminded that although life often isn’t fair, God can be trusted with all the details of our lives because He is in control and He gives us everything we need for life and Godliness. (2 Peter 1:3) We can turn to Him for wisdom, strength, forgiveness and eternal life. Life might not always be fair, but God is always good! Great job, students!

KPrep Festivities
K4 students in Mrs. Connell’s class learned God’s plan for plants to grow and change. They planted seeds in the classroom and then the K4 students showed their reading buddies (Mrs. Smith’s Class) how to do the same. K4 celebrated Dr. Seuss’ Birthday this week. They made special snacks and read lots of Dr. Seuss books! Mrs. Williams’ K4 class spent the week exploring the literature of Dr. Seuss. They created Thing 1 and Thing 2 hats, Truffala Trees, Horton dust specks, and Cat in the Hat artwork. They also created edible Dr. Seuss art! They even celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday on Wednesday with a FANTASTIC cake creation by Mrs. Evans! The students and teachers immersed themselves in all things SEUSS! Even our library ladies were part of the festivities.

Flu Symptoms
Over the past two weeks, we have had a number of students in the clinic with fever and other flu-like symptoms. Let’s work together to keep all of our students as healthy as possible.
