Congratulations to our own Dr. Luci Higgins for finishing the Glass Slipper Challenge with her daughters at Disney this past Saturday. Joining Dr. Higgins on Sunday for the Disney Princess ½ Marathon were Tonya Roskaft and Kate Keyes also of The First Academy. Way to go Doc!!!!!
MS PA Meeting
Join other MS parents for our monthly PA Meeting on Tuesday March 1st. We will be meeting at 8:15am in Faith Hall 301. Hope to see you there!
March 8th is our 3rd Quarter AR Deadline- finish strong and reach your goal!!!! Way to go scholars!!!!!
3rd Quarter Ends/Early Dismissal
Friday March 11th is the last day of our 3rd Quarter! Students will be dismissed at 12:15pm on that day!!!! Finish STRONG!!!!
The First Academy’s 8th Grade Maturity Conference
On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, our marvelous 8th grade scholars have the tremendous opportunity to participate in our annual 8th Grade Maturity Conference that will challenge and inspire them to live a life of purity. Students will be provided with information and encouragement on making positive life choices that correlate with a Christian worldview by Dr. Tamberly McCarus, First Baptist Orlando’s Student Ministry Staff, and The First Academy Staff.
The MS students will join our Upper School chapel in the First Orlando Student Center this Thursday February 25th. We will be welcoming Lance Millsaps- former TFA student/faculty/chaplain. Chapel will begin at 9:28am. Our next MS Chapel will be March 17th in Faith Hall.
IMPORTANT WrAP INFORMATION
How Well Do We Write?
The Standardized Writing Assessment Program (WrAP)
On Thursday March 3th and Friday, March 4th TFA students in grades 3-12 will participate in the Standardized Writing Assessment Program (WrAP). Students ARE permitted to utilize dictionaries and thesauruses during the 2-day writing assessment.
Materials needed for the WrAP:
a) 2 sharpened #2 pencils & 2 ink pens (blue/black)
b) Thesaurus (can be electronic)
c) Dictionary (can be electronic)
d) 4-5 pages of loose leaf notebook paper
*electronic spellers (ie: Franklin) are not permitted
Students in Grades 3-12 will be provided with 90 minutes for the standardized assessment.
