Costa Rica Mission Trip
Get excited and keep your eye out for details regarding this year’s Costa Rica Biology field trip! This trip takes place from February 13 – 18, and is open to all registered Upper School TFA students and their families. We will be participating in the following activities: mission work at a local orphanage, visiting the La Fortuna waterfall, horseback riding through the rainforest, taking a rainforest night hike and a volcano expedition, ziplining through the rainforest canopy, swimming in natural hot springs, white water rafting on the Pacuare River, and snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing on the sands of the Pacific Island of Tortuga. Student Leadership University-101
Rising Upper School families – First Baptist Church of Orlando’s youth ministry has employed Student Leadership University to conduct their student leadership training this summer. The training will be held on Friday and Saturday, August 8 and 9 at the Westin Hotel. It will incorporate about 90% of what is normally covered in the full SLU101 course, but it will not include the actual off-site experiences of Seaworld and Universal Studios. SLU101 normally runs $585 per student when registering as an individual, but this training will be conducted for $225! This is an incredible opportunity to receive some exceptional, top-shelf, Christian-worldview leadership training and simultaneously gaining SLU101 credit. Once completed, this experience will allow your son or daughter to be eligible for SLU201 in Washington DC next summer.
