TCS Newsletter, Week of 2/19

Please take a moment to mark your calendars. The following are important dates that you do not want to miss:

•Feb 24: SGA applications due
•Feb 26: Spirit Day
•Feb 28: Sweetheart Dance

IMPORTANT – Please Read!
If you want over-the-counter medication kept in the TCS office for your student, you must complete the appropriate form in the TCS office and supply any of the over-the-counter or prescription medications in their original container. Otherwise, we will not dispense any medication. Students may not carry on them any over-the-counter or prescription medications.

State Law allows students to carry their own medications for 3 reasons only:
•Blood Glucose monitoring and Insulin for diabetic students.
•EpiPens for allergic students.
•Metered Dose Inhalers for asthmatic students.
These emergency medications may be stored in the office for emergency use. The office closes at 3:30 pm, please plan accordingly for any extra-curricular activities.

Form(s) Required
•Diabetes Action Plan, Severe Allergy Action Plan, or Asthma Action Plan
If the student will self-carry the medication, a physician will need to sign the form stating that the student is knowledgeable and capable of self-administering the medication.

Calling all Rising 8th Grade Families (current 7th)!
Come and hear exciting information about next year’s Patriotism and American Leadership (PAL) trip to Washington DC! We are already planning a wonderful and transformative experience for your student. Important information about registering for the trip will be distributed. We will meet in the TFA Black Box on Wednesday March 11th from 3-3:30pm.

We are excited to announce the addition of a TCS Student Government Association (SGA) for the 2015-2016 school year. SGA will be comprised of a President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and a Chaplain. Any student currently in 9th – 11th grades are eligible to run for an office as long as they meet all the qualifications.

The application and campaign packets will be available from Mrs. Fiscus. All applications must be completed and returned to Mrs. Fiscus by Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Candidates will give a brief speech during chapel on March 12.
