The Classical School Blog, Week of March 30th

IMPORTANT DATES

Parents, please take a moment to mark your calendars. The following are important dates that you do not want to miss:

A Message from Sarah Donovan, Principal of Extended Educational Programs

“Growing little hearts and minds in God’s love.” These words encompass The First Academy Preschool. Our Preschool has been blessed with tremendous growth since its inception over the past two years. Growth in enrollment, growth in families (so many little siblings have come on board :), growth in learning, and growth in God’s love. It has been a crazy, beautiful experience and we are so proud of our Preschool leadership, team, and program. We recently released our new marketing video- take a moment to experience TFA’s Preschool and the blessing of our littlest Royals.

A Message from Joe Fana,  Principal of The Classical School

Did you know that we have installed an iPad kiosk in our lobby for students to access for Accelerated Reader testing?  This kiosk was added for your convenience; however, if you find it being used and you need to take a test, please check with Mrs. Kelly in the office to see if another iPad is available.  If you would like to test on your own iDevice, you will have to do so at the TFA Library.

Happy Reading!

There is a new iPad kiosk located in the TCS office for students to take AR tests on.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT

Janae Kinne

This week’s spotlight is on Janae Kinne, who started at TCS in her Junior year. Janae liked the flexibility that our school offered,w which gave her time to pursue other passions, one of which is participating in pageants. One of Janae’s most recent pageant accomplishments is winning the title of National American Miss Florida Teen! She also has participated in TFA Varsity Cheerleading and is currently SGA President. Janae has applied to three colleges: Stetson, Palm Beach Atlantic and Southeastern and has been accepted to all three, along with receiving scholarship offers from all three schools! She has several interests and has not yet not decided on a major to pursue, but she is looking at being a political analyst or possibly owning her own business. Mrs. Tower is a teacher that Janae particularly enjoys having – she says that Mrs. Tower takes the time to explain the lessons in a way that makes it easy for students to comprehend, and Mrs. Tower takes the time to ask about out-of-school activities and pray for any needs that students have. Janae feels that TCS has offered her leadership opportunities, and she looks forward to being able to continue to develop those skills. We have no doubt that Janae will use her talents to glorify Him, and the TCS family looks forward to following her success in the future!

Rising Grade Level Parent Meetings

One of the strongest features of our program is the natural collaboration between the school classroom and home classroom. In order to gain a glimpse at the year ahead, we have scheduled ‘Rising Grade Level Meetings’. The goal of these meetings is for you to have the opportunity to meet your student’s teacher and get an overview of the year ahead. These will be held in the classrooms and you will attend in your child’s grade level for next year. For example, Kindergarten parents will go to Mrs. Wixtrom’s first-grade classroom. The schedule is listed below and also on our TCS calendar.
  • Rising 1st Grade Meeting Thursday, April 6th @ 7:30-7:55am with Mrs. Jennifer Wixtrom
  • Rising 2nd Grade Meeting Thursday, April 6th @ 7:30-7:55am with Mrs. Ashley Stephens
  • Rising 3rd Grade Meeting Tuesday, April 11th @ 7:30-7:55am with Mrs. Emily Morrill
