The Classical School Blog, Week of May 11th

IMPORTANT DATES

Parents, please take a moment to mark your calendars. The following are important dates that you do not want to miss:

A Message from Sarah Donovan, Principal of Extended Educational Programs

When you hear the word ‘mom’, what comes to mind? The word can mean so much to so many, yet one binding meaning is ‘love’. One of my favorite scriptures anchored in motherhood is Proverbs 31:25, ‘She is clothed in strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.’ As we celebrate Mother’s Day, I encourage all of our TFA moms to take a moment to ‘be still’ and look at the beauty you are blessed with every day- your family. At The First Hope mom’s celebration last week, we shared the following video. Take a moment to bask in the modern day humor of motherhood. Happy Mother’s Day!

A Message from Joe Fana,  Principal of The Classical School

As this year comes to a close, I want to personally thank all of our parents, students, faculty and staff for a tremendous year!  We have been blessed by so many great things, filled with many memories – from Kindergartners searching for the Gingerbread Man to our Seniors preparing for their next steps in their educational careers.  I thank God for His unwavering love for us as we walk in Truth.  Please join us for our K-5th Grade Spring Presentation on May 16 at 10:00 AM in Henry Chapel as we celebrate our year, as well as recognizing our Kindergarten and Senior students.  In addition to this, we coordinately invite you to our 2017 Senior Graduation in the FBCO Worship Center at 6:45 PM on May 19.

RECOGNITION

Senior Lunch

Seniors were treated to lunch at Olive Garden with Mr. Fana, Mrs. Donovan, Mrs. Mayberry, Mrs. Myers, and Mrs. Lewis. It was one more celebration before the big graduation next week. We are so proud of our Seniors!

Middle/High School Chapels

We have been so fortunate this year to have student-led worship during our middle/high school chapels. This last chapel was led by Zayna and Gabby, who do a great job with this. We love seeing our students use the gifts God has given them to honor Him!

Field Day

Here are just a few shots from our annual Field Day event. A fun time was had by all, and a special thank you to Mrs. Reeves and all of the parent volunteers who made it happen!

5th Grade Sneak Day

Another successful Sneak Day occurred last week with Mrs. Whipple’s 5th Grade class. Students arrived at school, thinking it was another ordinary day, but then found out they were heading to Aquatica. This was to celebrate their last year of lower school, as they head on to middle school. Students and parents had a blast!
