A Message from Sarah Donovan, The Principal of Extended Educational Programs
“Love changes everything.” Such strong, truthful words. God’s covenant love fills our hearts each day, so that we can in turn share love with those around us. Acts of love are happening everyday at The First Hope, The Classical School, and The Early Learning Center. It is woven throughout each and every act we share with our students. What a gift to fill our precious students with knowledge, faith, and most of all love.

Sarah Donovan

Robyn Whipple

This is Robyn’s second year at TCS. She teaches fifth grade and loves the family atmosphere among the students and how they respect each other and the teachers. She enjoys being able to partner with the parents as she teaches the children. It’s this partnering that makes TCS a success.

Last year Mrs. Whipple was asked to lead the music for chapel. Each chapel her students did an amazing job leading worship with a positive attitude.

Robyn and her family love going to Disney. They go to different parks each week, and she loves seeing the joy on her kids’ faces. Family is important to her, and spending time together brings wonderful memories.

Grumble, Grumble- A Devotional Message from PJ Wehry
Some parents teach their kids John 3:16 as their first verse. The first verse my mother taught me was Philippians 2:14, “Do everything without grumbling or arguing.” I was three years old, and she made me copy it down fifty times as a punishment for… grumbling. I still haven’t learned my lesson perfectly, and I know that complaining sneaks up on us from time to time. However, few things kill our spirits more than complaining, whether someone else’s or our own specific brand of complaining. “They did what?” “I hate this.” “You’ve got to be kidding me.” “Can you believe this?” Negative speech is an easy vice to fall into. Paul tells us to avoid it “so that you may become blameless and pure ‘children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation.’” Christians reveal God’s power in their lives in many ways, but few ways cloud that picture more than grumbling and arguing. How will you use your speech today?

Shoeboxes for Haiti
Each year, The First Academy participates in one school wide Christmas mission project. This year we are pleased to announce our continued partnership with the New Missions’ Shoe Box Drive. New Missions is a Christian organization with schools in Haiti, serving approximately 10,000 students. Our boxes will be a gift of love to those who are in extreme need of even the most basic of health and school items. More information can be found at

Boxes will be collected on Thursday, November 12 outside of the TCS office.
If you wish to pay for postage online, please visit Thank you for partnering with us as we touch the lives and hearts of those in need.

Self-Study Days
The Self-Study Days were designed to give our families flexibility in participating in activities outside of our curriculum. On the Self-Study Days, students will not be assigned work by their teachers. Rather, the student and parent can come up with their own course of study for that day. This counts as a school day; however, you are not required to turn in documentation in to the school.

Please take a few moments to verify and update your contact, emergency, and pickup information in RenWeb. This is our primary method of regular communication so it is important that we have
accurate information on each student.

Field Trip Info
We are excited to share with you our scheduled TCS Field Trips for this school year. Please see the attached document for a description of the event. All Fall semester field trips are currently open for registration (with the exception of a couple waiting to be updated online).
