A MESSAGE FROM SARAH DONOVAN, DIRECTOR OF THE EXTENDED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

Student safety is our number one priority at The Extended Educational Programs of the First Academy. I refer to our faculty and staff as ‘lifeguards’- always watching and protecting our students. Safety starts from the moment the family pulls onto campus until the moment they are safely picked up at car line. Here are some safety tips to ensure all of our TFA students and families arrive home safely:

  • The Preschool Parking Lot (next to the Faith Hall loop) is for Preschool family pick-up and drop-off only. This is very important as we have families with little ones in strollers and walking with their parents in this area at the same time as TCS and TFH dismissal.
  • The Faith Hall loop and Welcome Center A is designated for TCS and The First Hope drop-off and pick-up.
  • Please drive slowly and carefully throughout all of campus. Students are often walking in between programs and activities. It is best to always take your time and drive safely in the mornings and afternoons.
  • Please pull all the way to the front of the car line and continue to move forward to allow for the line to move quickly and efficiently.

CLASS AND STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Ms. Johnson and Mrs. Ileka’s  Transitions+ Primary class has been hard at work developing and improving upon their reading and writing skills this year. From earning rewards for summer reading to celebrating the success of a new reader and new writers, it has been an exciting time of discovering the joys of a good book.

PRINCIPAL’S NOTE

Hard to believe but by next weekend it will be October already!  That is one of my favorite times of the year when you feel a little crisp air, yes for Orlando that means mid 70’s.  I love what the fall brings: celebrations, thinking of things we are thankful for, the fall colors, and of course the cooler temperatures.  It also brings at the end of October times for us to meet with parents to review their child’s progress over the last 2 months.  In just the first month I am already seeing growth in our students and blessed to be a part of their lives each and every day.  Take some time to enjoy the moments now with your children as they grow and make changes.  Enjoy the changes in the seasons of your personal journeys and appreciate how God is always there holding your hand.  He loves you so much and is there for you every step of the way.
