A Message from Sarah Donovan, Principal of Extended Educational Programs
We are blessed to have our programs reside in God’s house both spiritually and physically. The First Baptist Church Orlando is a home for our programs. The staff and church family at FBCO provides a strong foundation for our Extended Educational Programs. October celebrates Pastor Appreciation Month, and each Extended Educational Program will be showing their gratitude to our amazing pastor team at FBCO. Won’t you join us in sending love and appreciation their way? A online sign up link is being sent out for a Pastor Appreciation Breakfast to TCS and TFH families, being held on Tuesday, October 6th. The Early Learning Center has created personalized thank you’s in their ME classes with Miss Mary. We pray that our pastors, and all of the FBCO team, know how love and appreciated they are each and every day by our TEEP family!
It was a busy week at The First Hope! Students took advantage of group instruction or the help of a friend to get their work done. Mrs. Pillow is great at multi-tasking in supporting all of her students. -Jennifer Pinckney, Program Support Coordinator
Alex de la Fe, Adaptive Physical Education Teacher
Alex has a strong passion for what he does. He has been in the coaching and physical education world for 20 years. Alex enjoys helping his students achieve and grow in in a variety of areas through physical tasks and sports activities. Alex’s passion for sports and physical activity is not only shown on campus, but off as well. He is an avid golfer and basketball coach. This is his 3rd year serving at The First Hope as the Physical Education Teacher.
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL’S NOTE
Hard to believe but in a few short weeks we will be finishing up Quarter 1 already. Time is flying by. As I go into the classrooms I am seeing so many great things already. I have seen a student be able to stay in her seat when someone walks in the room now. I have seen a student be able to verbalize that “math is hard”. I have watched as a student is able to pronounce a letter more clearly. The staff put so much into our students daily in preparing them to succeed and grow. It is an honor and a blessing to be a part of these students lives watching God mold and shape them to be independent. -Patty Myers
