A Message from Sarah Donovan, Principal of Extended Educational Programs
At next week’s The First Hope Mom’s Fellowship meeting, Patty and I are hosting a SWOT. The SWOT acronym represents Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats. As Patty and I plan for next year and the future of The First Hope, it is so important to receive input, ideas, and celebrations from our families. The Mom’s Fellowship meeting is on Tuesday, November 17th at 8:00am in Cafe on the Rock. I will also be hosting a SWOT at the December TCS & TFH Parent Association meeting for TCS future planning. Family feedback is one of the most valuable pieces to supporting the future of TFA’s Extended Educational Programs. Hope to see you there!
Love to see our students in Mrs. Lewis’ room working together and cheering each other on. High School classes are challenging but Mrs. Lewis helps support our students and assists them to achieve greatness. God is working at The First Hope.
Mrs. Heidi Kovie
Lead Transitions+ 6-12 Teacher
This is Mrs. Kovie’s first year with The First Hope! Mrs. Kovie is great with her students and is such a wonderful blessing to our program. Outside of her dedication to our program and her students she loves to travel. Her favorite vacation spot is New Zealand. Mrs. Kovie has 3 teenagers of her own and a Chinese Exchange Student—that makes 4 teenagers! We love Mrs. Kovie and want to thank her for the hard work she has put in her first year here!
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL’S NOTE
Our program is one of a kind, in fact I look weekly for other programs like ours that I could collaborate with and share information with. It is hard to find a school like ours that provides all that we do: 1:2, ST and OT included in some of our programs, Adaptive PE 1×1 and small group, social skills training, ABA supports, all the math and reading interventions in addition to our inclusion option, the life skills taught. I am blessed most of all for it being Christ-centered and our Living Curriculum staff that love and support our students daily. We pour into them behaviorally, socially, and spiritually as well as academically. My family gets this benefit too with Charlie being here. Thank you TFA for saying YES to The First Hope 7 years ago.
