A Message from Sarah Donovan, Principal of Extended Educational Programs
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! A time of love, joy, and traditions. One family tradition celebrated in my home was Charlie Brown’s Christmas. I find that in the hustle, bustle of the holiday season, Linus’s scripture reading from Luke 2 anchors me to the true ‘meaning of the season’. I share it with all of you, our TEEP families, as a reminder of the Nativity of Christmas.
Charlie Brown: Isn’t there anyone who knows what Christmas is all about?!

Linus: Sure Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about. Lights please?

Linus: “And there were in the same country Shepards abiding in
the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And lo, the
angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone
round about them, and they were sore afraid. And the angel said
unto them, ‘fear not, for behold, I bring you tidings of great
joy which will be to all people. For unto you is born this day in
the city of David a savior, which is Christ the Lord. And this
shall be a sign unto you. Ye shall find the babe wrapped in
swaddling clothes lying in the manger.’ And suddenly, there was
with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and
saying, ‘glory to God in the highest, and on Earth peace, good
will toward men.’”

That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.

Daniel Myers from our Inclusion Program was able to participate in our History Fair this year. He made a project about Florida. He was excited to show off all his hard work. Go Daniel!

Ms. Sherian Stevenson
Transitions+ 6-12 Lead Teacher

Ms. Stevenson is one of our two lead teachers for our Transitions+ 6-12 program. She has been with The First Hope for 2 years. Just like all our other teachers, Ms. Stevenson has a passion for teaching. She has taught as an adjunct instructor, Sunday school teacher, women’s fellowship leader, and at a teen pregnancy program. Ms. Stevenson also has a background in human resources which we believe serves well when she teaches her students life skills.

Hard to believe it is already December. Only a few short weeks and it will be Christmas, my favorite time of the year. I love to see all the houses lit up, but more importantly I love to see the light of Christ shown everywhere. Before it gets too busy, take a moment to pray and thank God for all that He has done for us. Remember this season we get to celebrate Christ’s birth and reflect on all that He does and continues to do for us each and everyday.
We are getting ready for re-enrollment in January so be looking for more information in the next few weeks regarding our new procedures to do this. It will be all online this year.
