Three Things I am Praying for This Year

Written by: Dr. Steve Whitaker, Head of School

From the first day of school it was apparent that God was doing something special on our campus. Enrollment across the four divisions has reached an all-time high (1,231 students at last count), the Class of 2015 had a terrific Senior Retreat, and at least 14 students prayed to receive Christ since August 13.

With a heart of thanksgiving, this is my prayer for TFA this year:

1. That our Heavenly Father would get the praise and honor for all the good things that are happening on our campus – it’s not about us, it’s all about Him.

2. That we will be profoundly grateful for and humbled by the extraordinary privilege we have to serve Him – we are His hands and feet extended.

3. That our community (students, families, faculty and staff) will be profoundly impacted by the power of the Gospel – by Grace we have been saved.

I would like to invite you to join me in this simple prayer. Whether you’re sitting in the carline, working in your office or gathered around the dinner table with your family – please take a few moments right now to thank God for His blessings. The Bible tells us in Psalm 22 that “God inhabits the praise of His people.” When we whisper a prayer of thanksgiving we will experience the presence of God in our lives.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve your family at The First Academy!

The best is yet to come,

Steve Whitaker
