Upper School Blog, Week of 1/21

Parents, please take a moment to mark your calendars. The following are important dates that you do not want to miss:

Poetry Out Loud Competition

Poetry Out Loud is a national recitation contest for students in grades 9-12 that starts in classrooms and continues on through the school, state and national levels. All Upper School students participated in English classes, and 21 students were selected to compete at the school level. Students received scores based on their first round of poems, and 5 students moved on to the final round. Congratulations to our 5 finalists, as well as our winner, who will compete at the state level on March 12. McKenzie also won our school competition last year and placed 5th in the state!

1st place: McKenzie McNeil 12th

2nd place: Sophia Vitello 9th

3rd place: Bailey Higgins 11th

Honorable mention: Grace McGowan 11th

Honorable mention: Charli Higgins 12th

Date Change – Senior Ski Trip Parent Meeting

The ski trip parent meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 26 at 7:30am in the Student Center. At least one parent is required to attend along with the student. See Mr. Kavanagh if you have any questions.

Reminder – Lunch Deliveries

We are unable to have students or parents order lunch and have it delivered to the Upper School front desk. To protect academic time, we cannot call students out of class to sign receipts, nor can we sign receipts on behalf of you. If your student forgets their lunch, feel free to drop off a lunch in the front office.
