Performing Arts Students Attend Workshop with Broadway Composer

Choir students took a field trip to Jupiter, FL this past weekend to attend a workshop with Stephen Schwartz, the world-renowned musical composer who wrote Broadway favorites like Wicked, Pippin, Godspell, Pocahontas, and Hunchback of Notre Dame. Not only did they attend a concert that evening, but all students were able to join him for a special master class during the day. A once in a lifetime opportunity!

No Shave November

No Shave November logo

During November, students can purchase a No Shave November wristband for $15.00 and let their beads grow all month to help support local cancer research. In addition, sponsors may join in on the fun by sponsoring their favorite guy at $10.00 each. This is a great way for everyone to get involved and support male cancer research. Awards will be given for the Best Student Beard and Most Sponsored Beard. The two winning students will be allowed to keep their beards through the end of the semester!

Faculty can participate too. Students can sponsor their favorite teacher for $10.00 each. The faculty member with the most sponsors will be awarded a donut party for him and his sponsors during Royal Recharge.

Wristbands can be purchased from Mrs. Penny (US room 110).

Upper School Attendance

All emails regarding attendance can be sent to our receptionist, Lyn Maxime, at usattendance@thefirstacademy.org. If your student is arriving late, will be dismissed early or absent from school, please email Lyn at usattendance@thefirstacademy.org.

Upcoming College Visits

University Representatives from all over the country will be traveling to TFA to visit our 11th and 12th-grade students starting this month! College visits will be posted on Naviance, and students must sign up in Family Connection in order to attend. Meetings will be held during Upper School lunch, and the representatives will give a presentation in a teacher’s classroom, then take the time to answer any questions from students. Juniors and Seniors, be sure to sign up! Please, note, students must bring their own lunch.
