The Fine Arts have a long and successful history at The First Academy. TFA Fine Arts encompass the following Upper and Middle School areas:
3D and CERAMICS semester-long courses begin in middle school and culminate with AP Portfolio 3D. Creative events such as a fall Mannequin display, demonstrations and Hot Cocoa Party are some of the many events that feature our 3D artists. Our sculptors and artists have won numerous top honors in the community including the Windermere Rotary Art Show.
BAND includes Beginning band, Intermediate Band, Concert Band, Marching Band, and Jazz Band. Band students have received the highest possible ratings at both ACSI and FBA assessments at the District and State levels in Marching, Concert, solo and small ensemble.
MEDIA PRODUCTION courses include Intro to Media Production, and Media Production I, II and III. Media Production students develop their broadcast and digital media skills including film techniques, editing, graphics creation, music production, and more. Students also produce a weekly show, “Raw Footage,” and numerous special video projects throughout the school year.
THEATRE students may study theatre as an elective from 6th to 12th grades in courses ranging from Acting to Advanced Musical Theatre. Theatre students produce several productions annually and have consistently received superior ratings at the District and State levels in both individual events and one act.
VISUAL ARTS 2D students may take courses starting in 6th Grade which culminates with AP Portfolio 2D. Work is featured in TFA-sponsored art shows throughout the school year and various community venues. TFA artists have received awards and accolades from the Winter Park Art Festival, the Windermere Rotary Art Show, and the Downtown Rotary Sidewalk Painting Festival.
YEARBOOK is a yearlong course that offers students the opportunity to advance their journalism and photography skills through the design, management, and publishing of the TFA Legacy Yearbook. Yearbook is part of the Media Production program, offering students the opportunity to advance through the print track of Media Production I, II and III, and to apply for leadership editorial positions.
