“Service before self is an important element in the mission state of The First Academy.” Yearly, TFA students have the opportunity to participate in missions projects across the world. Recent trips have seen TFA students in Europe, Asia, South America and North America. We partner with First Baptist Church Student Ministries to provide students a rich missions experience.

Dominican Republic Trip

Families with students of all ages were invited to join us in the Dominican Republic. The First Academy partnered with the Mission Emanuel ministry in its focus to transform the community with Christ.

On this five-day trip to Santo Domingo the group experienced:

• Worship with each other and the locals: daily morning devotionals, sharing and individual quiet time which encouraged the spiritual development of each student.
• Aid in construction of homes, schools or places of worship.
• Visiting the community and fosteromg a cultural understanding. Students gained an eye opening perspective of our materialistic differences and christ-like similarities.
• A historical perspective on Santo Domingo. Students learned about its heritage on their downtown tour.
