The Legacy Yearbook staff is composed of students in grades 9-12, with the additional support of Middle School members. Students dedicate hours each week to designing, editing and creating the TFA Yearbook. The staff is composed of students from all disciplines, along with an editorial board, to produce the student-run publication. Each year the Legacy Yearbook features 330+ pages of memories for all TFA, TCS and TFH students.
Students interested in taking Yearbook must take one of the prerequisite courses, Journalism, Photography or Intro to Media Production. There they will develop the reporting and writing or digital photography skills necessary to excel in Yearbook, or wherever their creativity may take them. Yearbook is part of the Media Production program, which also offers students the opportunity to develop broadcast skills.
Once enrolled in Yearbook, students will refine their reporting and photography skills, while also getting professional design experience, learning advanced time management skills, and developing as leaders. They also learn how to handle real-world deadlines as pages are due to our publisher Jostens every month until the final deadline in March.
Staff members have the opportunity to apply for leadership positions as juniors and seniors if they continue to enroll in the course. The senior editorial board each year makes many of the design, theme, and coverage decisions you will see in the book. Yearbook is an esteemed high school experience that prepares students for a variety of career fields in college and beyond.
