In just a few weeks, we will pause to recognize and honor the men and women who have sacrificially and faithfully served our country in the United States Armed Forces. They have a special name….Veteran. These men and women who have earned the title of Veteran have given so much for each one of us and our beloved country. Through their blood, sweat, and sacrifice we have been provided a country where we are free to worship and live our lives to the fullest. We owe these freedoms to our Veterans who have served to protect and defend our country and many have even paid the ultimate sacrifice for you and for me.

For over a decade our students have set aside a day in early November to recognize and honor these heroes. This year we will honor our heroes on Wednesday, November 7, @10:00am. The Wounded Warrior Club from our Upper School along with their fellow classmates, faculty, and staff are looking forward to saluting the Veterans of Central FL. The 10:00am celebration will include the United States Armed Forces Color Guard, our TFA Concert Band and Chorus, multimedia presentations, a special salute to women who have served, and much more. The Lower School students will also provide their salute to Veterans at 1:00pm. Each of these celebrations will be in Faith Hall here on campus.

If you are a Veteran, or know a Veteran, please invite them to attend. It is a responsibility, privilege, and high honor here at The First Academy to pay tribute to our heroes. We would be thrilled to have as many as possible hear the students express their love and appreciation for all they have done.

In closing, not only do we have the privilege of honoring the Veterans on November 7, but we also have a great opportunity to serve Gold Star Children (those who have lost a parent in the military) on Saturday, December 8. We need as many TFA families as possible to volunteer to help welcome over 2,000 Gold Star Children to Disney World on that date from 10:00am-6:00pm.
