When we say First Things First, we are talking about putting that which is most important to Jesus at the top our list.
One of the ways we can do that is to join others in attending church each week. On the weekend of November 5, I’m encouraging all of us to participate in TFA’s “Invite A Friend to Church” emphasis.
In his book, The Unchurched Next Door, Thom Rainer shares two remarkable statistics:
- Only two percent of church members will invite an unchurched person to church.
- Eighty-two percent of the unchurched are at least somewhat likely to attend church if invited.
Together we can make a difference. First, if you don’t have a church home I want to invite you to join Tricia and me at First Baptist Church/Orlando this weekend. You can choose between four different service times – Saturday at 5:30 pm or Sunday at 8:30 am, 10:00 am, or 11:30 am. Second, if you are a faithful church attendee, invite an unchurched friend to go with you this Sunday, November 5.
My prayer is that churches all over Orlando have new visitors because of our faithfulness to simply invite our friends.
