Thinks & Thoughts

Life is like a camera–just focus on what’s important, capture the good times, develop from the negatives, and if things don’t work out– take another shot.

Middle School Attendance

All attendance notifications and questions should be communicated directly to Mrs. Erin Blackwell  our attendance clerk for both the Upper and Middle School divisions. You may contact Mrs. Blackwell concerning your student being tardy or absent at (407)206-8630 or email her at erinblackwell@thefirstacademy.org

Recognition

This week in 8th grade science is ELECTRIC. Literally students have been creating their own electrical circuits which create music turn lights on and off and much more all while learning the basics of electricity.

I have been very excited to see them even build their own AM Radio receivers as well as using water to conduct their electric circuits through.

Summer AR

Accelerated Reader will be turned off on Monday, May 23rd to allow time to set up the 2016-2017 school year.  Summer AR testing will become available beginning Monday, June 6th.  The library will not be open for testing over the summer, but students may take tests on iDevices via the AR app Monday through Friday from 9 AM-3 PM.  If students don’t have their own iDevices, there will be iPads available for AR testing in the Lower School lobby.  Students must be on campus logged on to either the TFA Guest or TFA wifi to take AR tests.   All tests taken during the summer will apply toward the first quarter goal of the 2016-2017 school year.
