MANDATORY SPRING SPORTS PARENT MEETING

The Spring Sports Parent Meeting is set for Monday, February 9, at 6:00 PM inside Natalie Thomas Gymnasium. TFA Athletics requires attendance from at least one parent/guardian of any student-athlete playing sports in the Spring.

NATIONAL SIGNING DAY

The First Academy celebrated three student-athletes as they signed their National Letters of Intent on Wednesday. Football players Mason Plante and Vic Thomas signed letters to the United States Naval Academy and Garrett Williams to Clemson University.

ROYALS BASKETBALL

The First Academy is 21-4 and coming off a runner up finish at the prestigious Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament this weekend. The Royals defeated Georgia’s Class AAAAAA No. 5 Shiloh High School in the quarterfinal (68-66) on a shot by Fletcher Magee with just 2.7 seconds remaining in the game. TFA stepped past Lake Minneola High School (Florida Class 6A No. 1) in a sound victory to earn a spot in the championship matchup with the No. 2 team in the country, Montverde Academy. The First Academy battled to the end, but fell to the Eagles, 67-57. Senior forward Gerrell Dickson was named to the All-Tournament team.

The Royals are back in action when they host Cornerstone Charter in the district semifinal on Friday at 7:30 PM at the Natalie Thomas Gymnasium.

LADY ROYALS BASKETBALL

The Lady Royals are 12-12 and look for a victory in region quarterfinal action when they travel to Father Lopez tonight at 7:00 PM. The game will be live on Royals TV and you can follow us on Twitter for the latest updates!

LADY ROYALS SOFTBALL

Lady Royals pitcher Abby Cramer threw a complete game shut out as The First Academy defeated The Master’s Academy, 12-0 on Tuesday. They host Lake Highland Prep today at 7:00 PM inside the Payne Stewart Athletic Complex.

ROYALS TENNIS

The Mario Cabral Era has begun at The First Academy and the Royals and Lady Royals are looking to rewrite the program’s record book in 2015.

LADY ROYALS LACROSSE

The Lady Royals kicked off the 2015 season with a 17-5 victory over Lake Howell High School on Tuesday. They are back in action when they take on Lyman High School at Lake Howell tonight at 5:30 PM.
