A Message from Sarah Donovan, Principal of Extended Educational Programs
Homecoming is a school family tradition and one that we are so excited to be a part of at TFA!
Next week we will be celebrating in every Extended Educational Program. TCS and TFH families, please refer to the Homecoming Packet for Dress Up Day details. We will also be celebrating with a TCS/TFH Homecoming Pizza Party on Friday, October 16th at 12:00PM at the Student Center. This is a TFH early release day, and all students need to be accompanied to the event with a parent/adult. The Early Learning Center will also be joining in the fun with dress up day and parade festivities. Please refer to Grayson Merritt’s TFA Today Newsletter for more details. Homecoming 2016- here we come!
Joe has been at TCS for 5 years. Joe appreciates TCS because it gives students the flexibility to pursue the extra-curricular activities that they want to devote themselves to. His favorite TCS memories revolve around the Thanksgiving Feast. Each year, he enjoys seeing our families break bread together and share the blessings which God has blessed us with.
That is exactly the kind of time that Joe enjoys with his family, whether they are on vacation in Maine or watching the Chicago Cubs together. Joe and his wife Rebekah have one daughter Libby, and there’s nothing that Joe loves more than spending his Saturdays with his family.
NEW THIS WEEK
Upcoming Self-Study Days
We will have self-study days this Friday and the following Monday, October 9th and 12th. The Self-Study Days were designed to give our families flexibility in participating in activities outside of our curriculum. On the Self-Study Days, students will not be assigned work by their teachers. Rather, the student and parent can come up with their own course of study for that day. This counts as a school day; however, the parents are not required to turn anything in to the school.
It is Homecoming this week. If you have questions, please refer to the homecoming packet that each family received. The packet can also be found on Renweb.
Library Closing Time
Due to 12:15 dismissal, the library will be closing at 12:45 on Friday, October 9th.
6th Grade Science Fair Meeting.
A mandatory science fair meeting will be held for all parents of 6th graders at 2:30 pm on Tuesday October 13th. It will be in the science lab, room 342 on the 3rd floor.
A Little Patience- A Devotional Message from PJ Wehry
Has your day ever started out bad? I mean really, really bad. I mean the kind of day where you’re late for school or work and you spill coffee on your new shirt because someone cut you off on the road, and then when you get to your office you find a new labor intensive project just sitting on your desk. How do you treat people on those days? It’s easy to be grumpy, curt, and ungracious. In Ephesians 4, Paul gives instructions about how to be a mature Christian. “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.” He includes other things that characterize a mature Christian, but it’s easy to skip over the day-to-day grind that this simple phrase demands. Paul doesn’t say, “Bear with one another unless you’re having a bad day.” It’s on the toughest days that our patience and grace are most needed.
Science and Geography Fairs
This year we will be modifying our Science and Geography Fairs. Students in grades 6-8 will only be completing the Science Fair, while students in grades K-5 will be only doing the Geography Fair. More details will be sent from the classroom teachers.
Please take a few moments to verify and update your contact, emergency, and pickup information in RenWeb. This is our primary method of regular communication so it is important that we have
accurate information on each student.
