The First Academy Class of 2015 Alumna Teahna Daniels helped propel the United States Women’s 4x100m Relay team into 2nd place, earning a Silver Medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Daniels is TFA’s first alumni to not only qualify for the Olympics but to also medal.

Daniels reached the podium alongside U.S. 4x100m teammates Gabby Thomas, Jenna Prandini, and Aleia Hobbs. The U.S. women’s team finished with the second-fastest time in qualifiers, reaching the podium ahead of Great Britain and just behind the gold-medal winner Jamaica.

Daniels’ trip to Tokyo began when she qualified for her first Olympics in June, earning a spot to compete in the 100m and 4x100m Relay. She placed 7th overall in the 100m in Tokyo before competing on August 6 in the 4x100m.

At TFA, Daniels was a letter winner, the 2014 FHSAA 100m and 200m State Champion, and the 2015 FHSAA 100m and 200m State Champion. She also won gold at the 2014 World Junior Championships in the 4x100m Relay and at the 2015 Pan Am Championships in the 4x100m.

Daniels graduated from TFA in 2015 and went on to compete at The University of Texas at Austin before going professional in 2019 when she earned Gold at the 2019 World Championships in the 4x100m Relay.
