The First Academy will host The City Beautiful Invitational basketball tournament December 27-30, 2017 in The Cramer Family Field House. We’ve invited 16 teams from across the state and country for the inaugural event. The games will be played in our state-of-the-art field house, which seats about 1,000 spectators, so we will have plenty of room for your family!
Orlando is known for its high-level basketball. Now, The City Beautiful Invitational will continue to forge this path for many up-and-coming basketball stars. Attendees and coaches will get a first glimpse of those who will soon be playing at top colleges around the country as well as in the NBA. The First Academy produced four Division 1 college players in the class of 2017: Chaundee Brown Jr./Wake Forest, Elijah Jordan/University of New Hampshire, Gregory Summers II/United States Naval Academy, and Malik William/Clemson.
The tournament will bring top talent to Orlando and TFA and will be a draw for college recruiting, the warm Orlando weather is also a bonus. Top players are eager to compete against the best and showcase their talents, which can also solidify college scholarship opportunities and an education that will prepare them for life after basketball.
Teams will kick off their 4-game guarantee beginning on December 27. The Championship game will be played on December 30. Along with some of the best basketball in the country, there will be entertainment for the entire family. We are looking forward to seeing you at the inaugural The City Beautiful Invitational.
The mission of The City Beautiful Invitational is to be the most distinguished and sought after holiday tournament in the nation. This will equip each basketball student-athlete with an opportunity to be recognized by college coaches, therefore enhancing their potential to play collegiate basketball through scholarship opportunities all while giving TFA the chance to share the Gospel and encourage the players with life skills that will enhance their sport and life.
