Parents, please take a moment to mark your calendars. The following are important dates that you do not want to miss:
TEEP’s Royal Reach Referral Program for all Extended Educational Programs is a great way for us to celebrate current families who refer their friends and extended family for the 2017 – 2018 school year.
Here’s how it works: When a student applies and successfully enrolls with any Extended Educational Program, the referring family receives a $150 per child in all age and grade levels at TFA’s Preschool, The Classical School (TCS), and The First Hope. The applicant must name you as their referring family on the student application. Every year, close to 80% of our new families enroll at The First Academy due to a current teacher, staff member, or TFA family recommending our school. We know that a recommendation from YOU carries much more credibility than any print ad can say, and we are grateful!
Please help remind your friends to apply early and save their spot for 2017 – 2018! Together we can experience what makes our Extended Educational Programs of The First Academy so special and bring additional mission-appropriate families to share in the excitement of TFA’s Extended Educational Programs.

One of our Senior Spotlights this week is Gabe Michaelis. Gabe was new to TCS this year, and his mom wanted him to have a change of school (his younger brother, Daniel, has been part of The First Hope for the last several years). Gabe spends a lot of his time working at a part-time job and also participates in youth group at his church. Gabe plans to attend Valencia upon graduation, and while he isn’t sure what he wants to study yet, he hopes to get his Associate of Arts degree and then have more of an idea of what major to pursue. Gabe feels that being at TCS has shown him the importance of prayer, and says Mrs. Mayberry is one of his favorite teachers, because she is nice and doesn’t put added stress in his life. TCS has enjoyed having Gabe apart of our family this year, and we look forward to cheering him on in his future endeavors!
Our other Senior Spotlight is Brooke Pickens, who is one of our 13 year Seniors! Brooke originally started at TFA in the Transitional Kindergarten program and then transferred to TCS for high school. Her parents originally chose TFA for the Christ-centered program and for being a school known to value students. Brooke’s extracurricular activities include varsity cheerleader during her Junior year; she also loves riding and caring for horses. Brooke plans to attend the University of Central Florida and would like to study Criminal Justice. During her time at TCS, Brooke says that one of her favorite teachers has been Mrs. Mayberry, who has helped Brooke not to stress throughout the college process and aided in giving Brooke hope for her college future. In Brooke’s words, she states that TFA “has taught me to always rely on God for the important things in life and always stay true to him.” After having seen Brooke grow up here at TFA, we are excited for her as she takes the next steps for her future!
Last Tuesday and Thursday, all TCS Seniors showcased their Senior Project. Each student used their Apologetics paper to create a slide presentation, which was then presented to the high school students and teachers. Seniors chose a worldview to research and then showed how this worldview related to the student’s personal worldview, and how this non-Christian worldview could be refuted. Thank you to Mrs. Crawford for spearheading this event – our Seniors did a fabulous job with these presentations!
