The Classical School Blog, Week of November 17th

Parents, please take a moment to mark your calendars. The following are important dates that you do not want to miss:

A Message from Sarah Donovan, Principal of Extended Educational Programs

It’s truly challenging to put into words how thankful I am to lead such an incredible group of leaders, teachers, staff, and students. Everyday I see sparks of amazing in the classrooms, in interactions with parents, and among teammates. It’s truly a blessing. When I first came to TFA, I knew that I would grow as a leader, but did not expect how exponentially I would grow as a Christian and parent too. I dedicate my Thanksgiving gratefulness to all of you- for reminding me daily that lifelong Christian leadership takes place in His word and through experiences with those who are true at heart. Blessings for an abundance of love this Thanksgiving season.

A Message from Joe Fana,  Principal of The Classical School

On October 20, 1864, one of our most revered Presidents, Abraham Lincoln, declared a proclamation to all Americans.  Below is an excerpt, of which I believe is still valid today.

Now, therefore, I, Abraham Lincoln, President of the United States, do hereby appoint and set apart the last Thursday in November next as a day which I desire to be observed by all my fellow-citizens, wherever they may then be, as a day of thanksgiving and praise to Almighty God, the beneficent Creator and Ruler of the Universe. And I do further recommend to my fellow-citizens aforesaid that on that occasion they do reverently humble themselves in the dust and from thence offer up penitent and fervent prayers and supplications to the Great Disposer of Events for a return of the inestimable blessings of peace, union, and harmony throughout the land which it has pleased Him to assign as a dwelling place for ourselves and for our posterity throughout all generations.”

May our Lord continue to shower you with his blessings of goodness and peace this Thanksgiving.

God Bless America Day

What a great day! Students dressed in patriotic wear last Tuesday in honor of Election Day. All students in grades K – 12 were also given the option to participate in a mock vote. Students voted for their favorite candy – chocolate or sour. The winner was chocolate, so all students received a bag of M&M’s on Thursday!

Look at these sweet Kindergartners showing off their projects on famous explorers! Students celebrated Curiosity Day the previous week, so this project expanded off of that. Each student did an oral report in front of the class and shared about the explorer they researched.
