The Classical School Blog, Week of November 2

IMPORTANT DATES

Parents, please take a moment to mark your calendars. The following are important dates that you do not want to miss:

A Message from Joe Fana, Principal of The Classical School

These continue to be difficult times in Haiti.  Enduring years of devastation from natural disasters, where over three quarters of the population lives in poverty, Haiti continues to struggle with the basic needs for survival.  It’s been over a year since Hurricane Matthew left a wake of destruction, including the loss of over 1,000 lives.  What can we do to help during this arduous time?

For the past several years, TCS has supported New Missions and their Shoebox Drive campaign.  We will continue this tradition, with hearts filled with Christ’s love for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.  Please consider assembling a box gift for a child in Haiti.  A printable packing list can be found at http://www.newmissions.org/shoebox-drive-resources.  We will be collecting the boxes in our office until Tuesday, November 7.

RECOGNITION

3rd Grade

Mrs. Morrill’s 3rd grade students learned about comparing and contrasting the main characters of biographies in class last week.

2nd Grade

In 2nd grade, Mrs. Stephens class has been busy with all sorts of learning activities. During Homecoming Week, students reviewed life cycles and then created their own life cycle (all while looking adorable in their crazy hats, glasses, and socks!). In class last week, students dumped out a variety of coins, sorted them, and then counted to find the total amount.
