A Note from Sarah Donovan, Principal Extended Educational Programs
The school year is off to a strong start! We welcomed The Classical School students back on Tuesday. The TCS SGA students and Rowdy cheered on the students as they arrived. The TCS Kindergarten parents joined us for a ‘Boo Hoo’ breakfast after they said goodbye to their little ones. The First Hope students have been busy getting back into the swing of things as they began their second week of school. The Early Learning Center preschool is growing and we are welcoming new families each week!

On Thursday, September 3rd, I am hosting a ‘Breakfast with the Principal’ at 8:15-9:00AM. It is being held in the E2 building in room 225, which is located in The Classical School. I welcome all Extended Educational Program parents to join me in kicking off the school year and spending time getting to know one another. I hope to see you there!

Note From Mrs. Grayson (Director/Assistant Principal)
Sweet Families:

Welcome to our third week of school. Our friends are beginning to settle into routine and we are learning how important schedules are to our sweet friends. Our children crave schedules and routine and it helps them to feel safe. When a child can anticipate and predict their day, it helps them to feel secure in what is coming next. Helping a child feel safe is one of 2 major components in helping a child be in their “executive state” for learning. Based on brain based research, if a child feels loved and secure then they are emotionally ready to take on the academic world. It is our desire to help regulate and calm children to help them feel a part of our school family.

Please join us in lifting up Miss Hope and her family in the loss of her grandfather. We also ask you to please pray for Mrs. Gina as she will be soon welcoming baby Jonathan. We ask you to please lift up and cover our staff in prayer that we will serve your families and continue to pour into your sweet children.

Classroom Spotlight:

Last week, Mrs. Mary started meeting weekly with your sweet children for an enrichment time. During this time, she provides an opportunity for the children to connect not only with her but also with each other. This bond is so important to help a child feel connected and a part of something outside of their home. We have been working with the teachers and encouraging them to make sure to have “intentional” moments with each child where eye contact and “being” present on most important. The pictures below show you how much fun the children have been having and how “connected” they are.

Starting the week of Monday, August 17th, our friends in the 2’s and 3’s classes will meet at 9:15am in the E2 hallway daily for a “School Family Greeting Time.” Each morning, we will come together as a school with Mrs. Grayson to connect as a school family through greetings, celebrations, prayer and fun! Please be sure to have your sweet friend here by9:00 so they can participate in this special time each morning.
