The First Academy is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2017–2019 for its customized learning 1 to 1 iPad program. Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence that use Apple products to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. They showcase innovative uses of technology in teaching and learning in the school environment and have documented results of academic accomplishment. The First Academy is one of only four hundred schools across twenty-nine countries awarded with this honor.
“This is truly a team effort and our students are the ones who benefit from the commitment from our faculty and leadership that help make technology integration seamless, reliable, and customized in the classroom.” Matt Eggert, The Director of Technology and Innovation at the First Academy.

The selection of The First Academy as an Apple Distinguished School highlights our success as an innovative and compelling learning environment that engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment. The 1 to 1 program has given students limitless opportunities to customize their curriculum, from taking Virtual Coding courses to experiencing movie production in World History where students record themselves reenacting battles of World War II. Teachers who have embraced the program have seen major learning gains from their International students taking English 11, using apps like Quizlet and Notability.
The First Academy is a Christ-centered, college-preparatory school serving over 1,450 Central Florida students across four academic divisions – Upper School (9th-12th), Middle School (7th-8th), Lower School (K4-6th), and the Extended Educational Programs (Preschool, Homeschool, and Special Needs).
