What is Biblical Worldview Integration (BWI)? By definition Biblical Worldview Integration is the act of weaving Biblical Principles into the curriculum and classroom teachings. So what does it look like in action? When visiting our TCS Spanish classroom, I experienced a strong example of BWI. Mrs. Roxanna Dickerson had an extra question added to the Spanish III exam. It asked students to defend in the Spanish language why spiritual exercise is more important than physical exercise. Below is student Sam Lowry’s response in both Spanish and the English translation:
Muchas personas crean que el ejercicio físico es más importante que el ejercicio espiritual. La verdad es que el ejercicio físico solo te ayude aquí en este mundo, pero el ejercicio espiritual te guía a una relación firme con Dios y a una vida eterna en el cielo.
A lot of people think that physical exercise is more important that spiritual exercise. The truth is that physical exercise only benefits you here on earth, but spiritual exercise leads you to a deeper relationship with God and to an eternal life with Him in heaven.
God is truly all around us- we are so grateful to be able to integrate him in every possible way in our classrooms. Blessings for a wonderful week!
We hope you all had a wonderful time over the Thanksgiving Break. To kick off the holiday week, our students and their families participated in classroom celebrations as well as the annual TCS/TFH Thanksgiving Feast. It was a lovely event complete with performances and presentations by several of our students, an amazing art exhibit displaying our students’ creative works, and a delicious feast. Above all, it was a time of fellowship and to give thanks for our many blessings.

Shannon and her husband Tim met at Samford University and have been married for 16 years. He is her college sweetheart and she is so thankful for the many blessings the Lord has bestowed upon them. She has two children; Blake, an 8th grader and Addison, “Addie”, a 5th grader at TFA’s 5 day school. She was born and raised in Orlando and is a 7th generation Floridian. With those Florida roots comes a long history at First Baptist Orlando, where she has been a member going on 37 years! She is excited to serve alongside The First Hope team and looks forward to the weeks ahead!
It is December! Can you believe it? December is hurried and can be a stressful month for most people. Why hurried and stressful? Well, there are many activities, buying gifts for loved ones, schedules changing, and many other things. You have the opportunity and choice to not have it be hurried and stressful. The focus should not be about gifts or things. It should be about Christ’s birth and what he did for us so we can live forever. What will your focus be? Let’s show our kids what December is really all about.
