What do Kobe Bryant, famous Laker’s NBA player, and our own Koby, The First Hope student, have in common? They share a namesake, they both tower over many with their incredible height, they both wear jersey #24, and they both know what it’s like for a basketball dream to come true. At last Thursday’s TFA Varsity basketball game, Koby scored his first game points, including one three-point shot. He shoots, he scores, and the crowd went WILD! This is not only a celebration for Koby, but for The First Hope. He represents our students’ ‘limitless’ abilities and opportunities for all dreams to come true!
Our 3rd grade Inclusion students had the opportunity to meet the newest family members of their teacher, Mrs. Morrill. Lottie and Lilllie, two baby chicks, visited the classroom last week. The students had the opportunity to interact with and ask questions about the young birds. They will have the opportunity to study their growth over the next several weeks.
February is Black History Month. We started off February watching the Liberty Kids Video about Harriett Tubman for our whole school on Wednesday. The students enjoyed it and we talked about God loving us all. Each of us needs to be kind as the Bible says in Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ. We can learn so much from our history and so grateful that God is guiding us each step of the way.
