Please welcome Lauren Berthelot, one of our newest Paraprofessionals at The First Hope.  Lauren is a native of Northern Maryland and a graduate of Greensboro College in Greensboro, North Carolina. Lauren received her Bachelors in Education. After completing a Disney College program, she fell in love with the city of Orlando and wanted to stay. In her spare time, Lauren loves spending time with her family: husband Ryan, daughter Zelda, and two dogs-Scout and Bandit. She also loves reading, coaching lacrosse, and spending time at Disney.

It was another fabulous Fall Festival for our students thanks to our wonderful parent volunteers. They set up several different activities including pumpkin gutting, an obstacle course, a gourd toss, and arts and crafts. The students were able to fill a treat bag with a piece of candy after each activity. It was especially great to see our older students step up and assist the younger ones to help them enjoy the event.

This Sunday, November 5th we want to encourage all our students, parents, and staff to Bring a Friend to Church! First Baptist Church Orlando is a great option and has a Special Friends Ministry for any of our students that would need support for Sunday School.  We want to encourage us all to bring at least one person this week to church sharing the great things that are happening when we worship with one another.  For any student that takes a picture with their friend they brought to church, showing me, they will get one weeks coupon for spirit wear for an entire week!  Here are some churches in the Central Florida area that have Special Needs Ministries:

If you live in another area not listed, just let me know and I would happy to help you find a church for you!
