Parents the church will be repairing E2’s roof in the next couple weeks. For a few days it will be fairly noisy. We will make room adjustments as we can but for a few days it may be a little out of the normal routine. We will keep you informed once the days are confirmed as well.
Please join us in welcoming Nicola Bennett, one of our newest Paraprofessionals!
Nicola has lived in many places around the world, including London, Jamaica, and New York. We are so thankful that she has finally settled here in Orlando. Nicola joins us with 11 years of experience working with children in church, hospital, and school settings. Nicola earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of West Indies with a Major in Legal Studies and a Minor in Literature. In 2010, she became certified as an Emergency Medical Technician, then later obtained a BSN in Nursing. Nicola is also the proud mother of two incredibly wonderful children, Nickayla who attends The First Hope, and Nikyle who attends The First Academy.
It was a terrific turnout for Donuts With Dad at The First Hope. In addition to enjoying a donut and coffee or juice, several of the classrooms had activities set up for the Dad and child duos to do together. From decorating pumpkins or doing a craft to simply sharing some quality time together, there were plenty of hugs and smiles. For those Dads who couldn’t attend, Coach Matt, Mr. Chessie, Mr. Myers, and a favorite uncle were all more than happy to stand in. Sweet tooths were satisfied, laughter was had, and special memories were made.

Our school year theme t-shirts this year have on the back of them #LIMITLESS. That is how we feel about each of our students. There are NO limits! Our students work so hard every day with the help of their teachers, paras, and all the other staff that help them. We have our Behavior Specialist (Chessie), Program Support Coordinator (Jennifer), Kelly (Program Assistant), Matt (PE Teacher), OT and ST Therapies (Kelli, Kristen, Victoria, Kristin, Jennifer) all that help our students each day. It takes a village. I am so appreciative of TFA 5-day and FBCO that partner with us to help our students with their social skills and behavior skills. I watch as the phone operators at FBCO greet our students. I see how the Librarians at TFA include our students (thank you Ms. DeBoom). I love to see Coach Grove interact with our kids during group PE time in the gym at TFA. One of my favorite times is when our TFA student assistants come help in our Early Learning Program class. I love all the partnerships we have all around campus that help us improve the lives of our students to reach their goals of independence. This is truly amazing to see FIRST THINGS FIRST in action.
If any medicine changes occur please communicate this to your teacher
