Parents, please take a moment to mark your calendars. The following are important dates that you do not want to miss:
A Message from Sarah Donovan, Principal of Extended Educational Programs
As I serve each unique Extended Educational Program, I am especially grateful for three very special leaders. I am grateful for Patty Myers and her heart for providing our TFH students with a place to grow in mind, body, and spirit. She has been with the program since its start, and would move mountains to ensure the best for our students. I am grateful for Grayson Merritt and her heart for our littlest Royals. She has a gift and unwavering love for creating a preschool that helps both our students and staff flourish. I am grateful for Joe Fana and his heart for creating a strong school to home connection. He has a contagious joy for our TCS students and staff that fills our hallways and hearts. Please join me in thanking them for their love and leadership.
Kai Harris likes to work on his communication and social skills during his time with Max the therapy dog brought in by The Classical School parent Pat Foss. She has volunteered at The First Hope for 2 years now. We are blessed to have Max help our Transitions+ classes. They always look forward to Tuesdays when Max comes to visit.
Mrs. Christin Lewis, Lead Inclusion 6-12 Teacher
The First Hope has been blessed for 3 years to have Mrs. Lewis on board our program. Teaching special needs students is her passion and she enjoys walking with each student on their life journey. Outside of school Mrs. Lewis is an Auburn football fan, loves going to the beach, and capturing life in pictures. The First Hope has seen the hard work and dedication Mrs. Lewis puts into her students, coworkers, and work and is happy to announce that she has been given the title of Team Leader for our Inclusion Program. She continues to be a great leader and we are excited to see the accomplishments her students achieve this year. She is a TFA alumni and got married this past May.
ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL’S NOTE
Parents we just completed our 1st Quarter conferences and heard so many great things happening at The First Hope. God is so working at this place. I loved to hear parents tell us that what we are doing here is making a difference at home: they are more social, they can tie their shoes now, they help with the laundry, and they were able to regulate their emotions better out in the community. These are just a few things that parents have been blessed by. I am a parent here as well and I have seen such growth in my own son Charlie, with his independence and confidence. Thank YOU The First Hope for being a place where our kids can grow and be independent as we love and encourage them.
