NEW THIS WEEK

MS/US Chapel Recap 10/19

By Abby, Class of 2018

This past week we had an amazing opportunity to hear from Pastor Chris Bacon in chapel. He continued to build upon the series that we have been going through in Philippians. He focused on chapter 3 verses 8-11 where Paul discusses counting everything as loss when compared to the glory of knowing Christ as our personal savior. He also spoke about how our righteousness does not come from doing good deeds but from faith in Christ.

I really appreciated how Pastor Chris pointed out how all of the things that we idolize are all nothing compared to the joy and righteousness that comes from following Christ. He ended with a touching story about a young boy at VBS who was able to recognize that sometimes even the tastiest treats mean nothing when we can have Christ.
