Join Patrick Henry College in a regional Moot Court Tournament at UCF!

Moot court is a simulation of what appellate arguments look like, following the same procedures used in district, circuit, and the Supreme Court level.  Every year students from schools across the country are given a case set in a fictional state that touches on two constitutional questions.  Each team is composed of two people, each of which will argue one of the issues in the case.  For this year’s case, the creators of the case have given PHC a harder road than most other schools because the case deals with mandatory ultrasounds before pursuing an abortion, and whether that violates the woman’s fourteenth amendment rights, coupled with the question of whether the requirements on doctors to authorize certain procedures and act in a certain way violates their first amendment free speech rights.

This event will take place at 3:45 pm at UCF on Friday, November 7th. To RSVP please email Aaron Kamakawiwoole, the Assistant Director of Admissions at AKKamakawiwoole@phc.edu by Monday, November 3rd.  Dinner will be provided following the competition and parents are welcome too!
