Hybrid Home+School =
A Flexible Christian Education

Offering a K-12 homeschool partnership

Your family’s rhythm probably looks different from others.

Some families spend their days traveling for tournaments or performances. Others want more time for shared learning at home, or need room in the week for tutoring or therapy.

The First Academy’s Hybrid Home+School program is designed for families like yours — families that value a Christ-centered education and a strong academic foundation but also need the freedom to shape their schedule in a way that works best for their child.

Here, students learn on campus two days a week with TFA Hybrid Home+School teachers and classmates, then complete lessons at home the other three days. It combines flexibility with excellence and independence with belonging.

What Is Hybrid Home+School?

The Hybrid Home+School program is a homeschool alternative for K-12 students, providing the structure of on-campus classes two days per week. Scheduling options include a Monday/Wednesday track for students in grades 7–12, while our Tuesday/Thursday track is available for all grades, K–12, subject to current enrollment capacity. On the remaining days, they complete teacher-directed assignments at home with a parent serving as a learning partner.

HHS provides the curriculum, lesson plans, report cards, and transcripts, so families have the assurance of an accredited education supported by certified teachers. Parents focus on mentoring and reinforcing lessons rather than creating or documenting coursework on their own.

Students study core subjects such as math, science, language arts, history, and Bible, and they also participate in electives, chapel, and other school activities. The program maintains the same academic standards and Christian mission as all TFA divisions, while offering a model that fits many families’ needs.

From Our Families to Yours

Hear parents and students describe why homeschooling with classroom days is the right fit for their family.

“A Hybrid Home+School placement for my son was an amazing experience!  As an incoming junior pursuing a college football scholarship, his schedule was crazy with practices, trainings, meetings, and recruiting travel visits. With this hybrid model, he was able to navigate classwork, attend necessary in-person classes, take online classes, and travel when necessary, without missing content and assessments. I highly recommend this academic model, especially if your child has a time-consuming extracurricular passion!”

CHRIS ANNE BARCLAY, PARENT

Hybrid Home+School is working out wonderfully for us because I love to have a hands-on education experience in teaching my girls to love God’s word. We memorize it together, read, and sing on non-school days without hurry. I like that I can impart my love for healthy cooking and eating to my children because we have the time. Hybrid also allows us to be held accountable, providing curriculum and insight into where my children are academically. They are rigorously challenged and inspired to do their best. They love the social aspect of being with their friends twice a week and absolutely love their teachers.”

JAMIE HSU, PARENT

Hybrid Home+School is the right fit for my family because it allows me to grow in my faith while balancing my education with my passion for weightlifting. The flexible schedule helps me stay disciplined, honor God through my work ethic, and prepare for what He has planned for my future.”

MYKAH MILLER, STUDENT

I’m in 9th grade. I’ve been at TFA Hybrid for two years. I originally came for athletics, so I could use the extra time to train, but I stayed because of how much I’ve grown spiritually. TFA Hybrid truly feels like a family, and it’s helped me grow both on and off the field.
