As the parent of a kindergartner, you’re excited to see all the ways your little one is going to grow and all of the new material they’re going to learn. You want to be sure they’re starting elementary school in an environment that encourages social and emotional well-being, as well as sets them up for academic success in future grades.
The First Academy’s kindergarten program is designed for differentiated instruction, joyful learning, social and emotional wellbeing, and biblical integration into the curriculum and culture.
Below, you’ll find a brief overview of what we offer, including:
TFA’s kindergarten introduces students to elementary school with a full school day (8:00 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.) five days a week. Each day starts with a morning greeting, Bible devotions, and a song and dance to help get the wiggles out. Little learners are taught by Living Curriculum Influencers who exemplify Christian values. The daily schedule has two recesses, exploratory classes, snack time, and quiet time built in to help provide much-needed breaks of movement and redirection. A season of discovery.
The First Academy’s kindergarten program enhances content mastery and character development through faith-based instruction. Our kindergartners flourish through:
A differentiated curriculum.
As each child is unique and created in the image of God, we approach their education with the same consideration. Benchmark testing helps us identify student levels and needs, allowing us to close gaps and identify areas of strength. Instruction is focused on a balance of academic, motor, social, and spiritual development.
Purposeful character development.
Parents partner with teachers in their children’s development. Students study God’s Word, memorize Bible verses, and pray for each other and the greater good of the community. Opportunities through athletics and the fine arts lead to the discovery of talents, gifts, and interests.
Love is part of learning.
TheFirst Academy kindergarten teachers know the balance between love and limits, setting boundaries for students and giving them a safe, supportive place to make mistakes. Good behavior is championed through teaching students how to be more like Jesus, and the modeling of kindness and patience by teachers.
Technology as a tool to enable learning.
The First Academy is an Apple Distinguished School, which gives us the opportunity to provide individualized instruction through technology. While we introduce our kindergartens to the safe uses of technology in the classroom, it is merely a tool to enable their learning, and not the cornerstone of their academic experience.
Our kindergarten area boasts a large playground, a special reading center for our kinder-focused, primary readers, two full-sized gymnasiums for PE, and designated art and music classrooms.
My daughter is excited to come to school every single day because she is excited to see her teachers. She knows that her teachers love the Lord, and she knows that they love her.

Developmentally Balanced
Our kindergarten program lays an important academic foundation for first grade and beyond while balancing developmentally focused skills such as gross and fine motor skills, social skills, and preparing students for the expectations they’ll encounter in elementary school. We incorporate both group activities and independent study so students can experience collaboration alongside self-discipline. Homework is assigned so students grow accustomed to incorporating studies into their afternoon routine.
A Safe Environment
Student safety is our priority. Through incorporating Christian values into our school culture, we emphasize treating others with respect and kindness. We have a dedicated safety team, campus security, and conduct background checks on all staff.

“Teaching kindergarten at TFA is a unique experience. Having attended TFA kindergarten myself, I know firsthand how the memories formed in the classroom, both with the children and their families, make an impact for the rest of a child’s spiritual and academic experience.”
