When did you graduate from TFA?

2014

Please tell me about your family, occupation, and/or volunteer service.

Megan and I have been married for almost 5 years, and we have a little boy on the way (the due date is July 29th). I was recently ordained as a pastor. and we recently moved to Shelby, NC, where I serve as the Worship Arts Pastor at First Baptist Church of Shelby. We really enjoy North Carolina, the weather is great and we’ve met some wonderful people here. We enjoy exploring new towns around the area along with spending time outdoors or going to the movies.

How did TFA prepare you for the next steps in your life?

TFA gave me a strong foundation and understanding of Biblical principles that I use daily in my role as a Pastor. At TFA I was able to explore what leading Worship looked like at a young age, not knowing then that it would be my calling in life.

What teacher(s) and/or coach(s) had the most impact on your life, why/how?

Plenty, Dr. Toenges passed on so much wisdom and knowledge about how to follow Jesus in an environment that doesn’t welcome God. Mr. Adams’ psychology class piqued my interest in helping people through counseling and personal care, tools that I use each day as a Pastor. Finally, Lance Millsaps gave me the opportunity to lead worship for the TFA Chapel band, something that was clearly pivotal for my life and was the beginning of my ministry. There are plenty of others like Kacey Kowars, Jessica Damron, Coach Harvey, etc.

Is there anything else you’d like to share about the impact or connections TFA has made in your personal and/or professional life?

I have been so blessed to know so many teachers and staff at TFA throughout the years, each of them has been supportive and welcoming to me well beyond my graduation 8 years ago. So many of my interactions with TFA have been positive, I know that their support and prayers are always with me.
