Congratulations to the Lady Royals Golf team on winning the Class 1A State Championship on Wednesday afternoon at Mission Inn! The two day tournament saw the Lady Royals shoot a school and state record with an -11 total score, which was 24 strokes ahead of the 2nd place team.
Sophomore Ariel Y. (pictured right) also won the individual state title with her -9 (68 & 67) score through two days. Junior Sophie G. claimed the Runner-up trophy with an individual score of -6 (71 & 67). Check out this video to hear Coach Bateman’s thoughts on his team and their win.
It is the first golf team state championship in school history and we are really proud of the ladies on this tremendous season! The girls will be a force again next year as the team only loses one senior in Emma Z. Go Royals!!
